Virginia Tech football: Commanders work with former Hokie star Darryl Tapp as DL coach

A Virginia Technology tale is making his mark in the NFL. Former Virginia Tech star protective end Darryl Tapp got a promotion on Wednesday. After 3 years as the assistant protective line trainer for the San Francisco 49ers, Tapp is returning to Virginia. He was hired as the Washington Commanders' protective line coach under new head instructor Dan Quinn. Tapp's mentoring occupation began in 2018 as a defensive quality assurance instructor at Central Michigan. In 2019, he moved to Vanderbilt to function as an unique groups quality assurance trainer. It remained in 2020 when he returned home to Blacksburgh under previous head train Justin Fuente, to act as the co-defensive line coach at Virginia Technology. Tapp rapidly went far for himself on the coaching circuit Nico Marley Jersey, and was a popular number on the recruiting trail, particularly in his indigenous "757" area of Virginia. Sadly-- from the Hokies' perspective-- Tapp captured the eye of the NFL and he carefully approved a setting with the 49ers. And one more 49ers assistant train is headed to Washington. San Francisco's assistant protective line coach Darryl Tapp-- that played defensive end and linebacker in Washington in 2013 during his 12 NFL seasons-- is taking over as the Leaders protective line instructor Clinton Portis Jersey, per resources.
