His mother, who had a different perspective on gaming, was shaped by her husband’s past aspirations. He had aimed to be a professional Dota player but didn’t achieve his goal, leading her to have reservations about the esports scene.
In contrast, Kairi maintained an optimistic view of gaming. “I would just watch my classmates play since I didn’t own a cell phone back then, and we lacked Wi-Fi. Occasionally, I borrowed my grandmother’s iPad for some gaming, and I relied on our neighbor’s Wi-Fi for access.”
